Abstract:

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) which tracks moving objects with an
electronic transponder is a useful technology for supply chain management
systems. Many large corporations such as Wal-Mart have implemented this
technology. However, at present the application of RFID is still limited to
the upper stream of the supply chain with very little application on the
lower stream or the client side. In this talk I will discuss the potential
use of RFID in Customer Relationship Management by integrating the
technology with enterprise information technology infrastructure. The
advantages and limitations of this approach as well as upcoming challenges
and future research areas will be identifed.
