Closer to the start date of the World Congress on Engineering and Computer Science, which will be held in October 2007 in San Francisco, I will contact you for specific shipping and logistic details. Regarding book publications by Springer - I had originally meant that I would be available during the conference to talk to potential authors whom may have a new book idea/proposal. However, as you mention, we could also initiate a "best-papers-of-conference" edited book right now. We often publish these types of books, and they tend to add academic interest to the conference (note: not a proceedings because only selected papers are chosen and need to be expanded). Perhaps over the coming months you could discus potential topics with committee members, and then send me a short 1-2 page book proposal including a brief proposed contents overview. After I have discussed this with Springer management, and looked into market potential, I would send you (or whoever the main editor will be) an agreement and we would work from there. Springer will type-set the book to final camera format, hence all the designated editor need do is invite selected authors to expand their conference papers to full chapters and coordinate that chapters are reviewed etc. After the main editor has received all chapters, and the introduction is written, then the source files can be sent to Springer and we will see to type-setting, including making of the ToC, pagination and making of the index. Conform the agreement royalties will be offered to the main editor. Please let me know what you think of this idea - should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to working with you on this book project - and seeing you in person in San Francisco this Fall. We are happy to tell you that we can arrange special arrangement for one delegate from Springer. The standard registration fee for this delegate can be waived in our conference. Also, we can arrange a table of about two square meters for displaying the Springer materials in the second or third day of the conference. For the potential publication with Springer, it would be our pleasure if you can provide us more information. It is because we have the regular committee members, and we can tell our committee members about the details of the requirement for publishing the edited book with Springer. Then, it will be possible that we can have the book proposal well before the conference instead. We are looking forward to your reply, and the details of the publication information. If you have any question, you are welcome to tell us. With much interest I read over the scope for the various conferences which will be held during the World Congress on Engineering and Computer Science 2007. Especially of interest was the ICCS 2007 for as you may know Springer - whom recently merged with Kluwer Academic Publishers - is a leading international publisher of research level books in the field of Electrical Engineering, and within this discipline we have established ourselves as market leader in both the Circuits & Systems, Signal Processing and Computer Science areas (please note that one of your keynote speakers, Prof. Magdi Bayoumi, is one of our authors!). It is also our goal to keep publishing top-level content from experts in these areas so that we can keep servicing the community. That is the reason why I am writing this email. Is it an idea that someone from Springer attend and exhibit during the forthcoming WCECS 2007 in San Francisco in October 2007? In so doing we would offer delegates the opportunity to purchase relevant books at a conference discount and I would also be available to meet with academics whom are attending the conference to determine if they could be potential authors. Please let me know if this proposal is of interest to you, and in case it is how we can organize the logistics. I look forward to hearing from you.
